Having something 3D printed
Where can I have something 3D printed?
At a 3D print service like Huedcast. Upload your STL or 3MF on the 3D print service page and you see right away whether it fits and what it costs; without a file, you make one with the AI designer or have it designed. We print in Wijchen and ship throughout the Netherlands and the EU, so there is nothing to collect.
What does it cost to have something 3D printed?
A print in resin has a fixed price per size class: from €23.95 per piece for the smallest class (up to 45 mm tall) up to €124.95 for the largest (120 to 160 mm). Shipping within the Netherlands costs €4.95, free from €90.00. All amounts are on the pricing page.
Can I have something printed as a private individual?
Yes. One piece is enough, you do not need a business, and you do not need an account to upload and see the price. Only the AI designer asks for an account, because the credits belong to it. Businesses request a quote on the business page.
Ordering and delivery
Is anything kept in stock?
No. Every piece is printed after you order. That means nothing is ever sold out, and it also means there is print time between your order and the shipment.
How long until I have it?
That depends on the piece and on how busy the queue is. We do not name a date we cannot keep; you can follow your order on the order status page.
How large can my model be?
That differs per machine and is listed in millimetres on the machines page. If your model does not fit anywhere, you see that when you upload it, before you order anything.
What does shipping cost?
Shipping within the Netherlands costs €4.95 and to the countries of the European Union €8.95; from €90.00 shipping is free. Credits are digital and carry no shipping.
Can I send in any file?
Only files you hold the rights to. We do not print models of protected characters, even when the file is freely available. You confirm this at upload.
The AI designer
Do I need an account?
To design, yes: credits belong to an account, and that is how you find your designs again. Browsing and checking prices works without one.
How long does a design take?
Standard usually 1 to 2 minutes, premium usually 2 to 6 minutes. Longer when it is busy.
What if I do not like the result?
If a design fails, your credit comes back. If it worked but is not what you wanted, try other photos or a hint, or have it refined by hand.
Who owns the model?
You do. No rights are claimed on it, it is not sold as a product and not used for other customers.
What does the print cost?
A fixed price per size class in resin, from €23.95 per piece; you see it with your model as soon as it is ready, before you order anything.
Full colour
Can I order anything now?
No. Nothing is sold on this page and nothing is charged. You only leave your email address.
When will the printer be here?
There is no date. You will hear as soon as it is here and real prints have been made with it.
How strong is the material?
That has not been measured yet, and the maker does not publish it. Once it is measured, it will be here. For parts that have to carry load, FDM or resin is the better choice for now.
Do I need my own 3D file?
You can, but you do not have to. You can make a model with the AI designer or have it designed; how to supply a model for full colour will follow.
What will it cost?
That is not known yet. There will only be a price once the machine is here and the cost per print has been measured.
Do you print characters from games or films?
Only if you hold the rights. Models of protected characters are not printed, even if the file is freely available.
From the knowledge base
The main articles of the knowledge base answer the broader questions: how 3D printing works, what it costs, which material fits where, how to design and finish, and what to use it for.
