The HeyGears G1X: full colour in a single print

With this printer the colour comes out of the machine, in one piece, without painting. Below, first what it cannot do, then what it can. We will only name a date and a price once we can keep to them.
The limits first
- Up to 13 cm tall in one piece. Anything larger only in parts you join yourself.
- Brittle: the material is hard, but breaks if it falls or bends.
- For display only: not for parts that have to move, clamp or carry weight.
- Not in full sun and not in a hot car: heat and UV light can affect the shape and the colour.
- A colour on your screen and the same colour in the print are not always identical.
What the machine does
The printer lays down tiny droplets of liquid material, layer by layer, and cures each layer straight away with UV light. Because each droplet can have its own colour, the colour is created during printing.
The colour sits in the outer layer, over a white core. That keeps colours bright and the inside light.
The supports are made of a material that dissolves in water, so fine parts do not have to be cut free.
